Talking About Restaurant Equipment and Techniques

Hi there, I am Sal Kinders. I am going to use this site to talk about cooking techniques and tools used in restaurants. Chefs at large and small restaurants cannot use the same techniques and tools used to cook at home. Instead, the equipment allows chefs to mass produce meals to serve an entire restaurant full of people quickly and efficiently. The equipment also ensures each plate mimics the next to keep the product uniform. Restaurant customers expect their meals to taste, smell and look the same each visit. My site will explore these techniques and tools in great detail. Thanks for visiting.

Choosing A Restaurant For A First Date

First dates can be awkward, or they can be amazing. While a lot of it has to do with the two people on the date and how much natural chemistry they have, setting does play a factor, too. You want to choose a restaurant that gives you the best chance of getting to know your date and having fun together. Here are some tips to help you choose the best restaurant for your first date.

Go middle-of-the-road when it comes to pricing

You don't want to choose the most expensive restaurant in town. If the date does not go well, you'll feel like you wasted your money. You also don't want to choose the cheapest place in town and look like you're skimping out. So, go for a middle-priced restaurant. Anywhere that charges around $15–25 a plate is about right.

Know your date's dietary restrictions

If you're the one choosing the restaurant, it is entirely polite to ask your date beforehand if they have any dietary restrictions. Take them into account when choosing a restaurant. For example, if your date is vegan, you'll want to look for a restaurant with various vegan options, if not one that is vegan altogether.

Stay away from highly experimental places

Going to a restaurant with a unique menu or a non-standard approach can be a lot of fun, but avoid places that are highly experimental for now. You don't want to risk not liking the food or being so overwhelmed by the novelty of the place that you can't pay attention to your date. A place that offers unique burger toppings is a good choice. One that specializes in deconstructed burgers, brought out one component at a time, is a step too far!

Aim for a quieter ambiance

It is hard to talk and get to know a person if there's loud music playing, or if your table is right up against a busy dance floor. Look instead for a restaurant with a quieter atmosphere. Try making your reservation a little earlier — closer to 5 or 6 pm, if possible — as most places tend to have a more subdued ambiance around this time.

It's important to put some thought into the restaurant you pick for your first date. Don't just consider the cuisine and name. Think about the atmosphere, the pricing, and how unique the dishes and overall approach might be. Contact a restaurant like Cafe Italiano Restaurant & Pizzeria to learn more.
